Laughing Gas

Nitrous Oxide

Commonly called laughing gas, nitrous oxide is safe and has been proven to be effective over a long period of time. Your child will be given a small nasal mask that will allow him/ her to breathe in through their nose and out through their mouth. In less than 4 minutes your child will notice a more sedate feeling, and their cheek and gums may start to tingle. After this any needed local anesthetic is applied and treatment begins. Afterwards, they will be given pure oxygen to breathe for about five minutes to dissipate the effects of the nitrous and return to a normal state.
