Meet Dr. Wakefield
Dr. Candace Wakefield is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists. She has the unique ability to relate to kids. Dr. Wakefield is passionate about helping children of all ages maintain a healthy and beautiful smile by establishing a positive attitude towards dentistry
Dr. Wakefield was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1995. Dr. Wakefield attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine (SIU-SDM) and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2000. After dental school, she continued her dental education and attended Howard University in Washington, DC. She was elected chief resident in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and received her Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2002. She served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at SIU-SDM from 2002-2004. In 2011, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Howard University for her commitment to community service and the profession. She also received the Excellence in Healthcare Award in 2013 by the St. Louis American Newspaper.
Dr. Candace Wakefield pledges to provide all children with outstanding dental care in the safest, effective and efficient manner possible. She is interested in promoting dental awareness for both children and their parents. Dr. Candy wants your child to have the most pleasant experience and to achieve the benefits of healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime.

Dr. Wakefield is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, and the Greater St. Louis Dental Society. She has volunteered her dental services to meet the dental needs of children in other countries such as Nicaragua and Jamaica. In 2010 and 2013, Dr. Wakefield traveled to China and India as a Dental Delegate Ambassador with the People to People Organization.
Dr. Wakefield got married to her husband, Denis, in 2014 and they have a delightfully spirited son. She is active with her church and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. In her spare time, she loves to enjoy movies, travel, and frequent Starbucks!!!
